Christopher Bwanika

He is a Partner in M/s Kalenge, Bwanika, Kimuli & Co. Advocates, one of the oldest and established Law Firms in Uganda. He holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) degree in International Finance, Arbitration and Business Law from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary & Westfield College University of London, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Makerere University, Kampala and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center, Kampala, Uganda.

He has been an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature of Uganda, admitted at the bar in 1986 and worked as an Advocate with M/s Kayondo and Co., Advocates. He has lectured and externally examined on Commercial Laws at the Law Development Centre, Kampala. He has worked as Lead Consultant on the Reform of Commercial and Related Laws that affect Private Sector Economic Development for the Uganda Law Reform Commission and has also been a Head Legal Expert supporting the Government of Uganda Team on the Second Economic and Financial Management Project (EFMP II) Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development funded by the World Bank.

He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and East African Law Society. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the United Kingdom, the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS) and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. He is Alumni of the School of International Arbitration Centre for Commercial Law Studies at the University of London and Alumni of the Summer Academy of the University of Cologne Germany.
